He died in a helicopter crash. Three other American soldiers were also killed.

Lucas graduated from Champlin Park High School and attended St. Cloud State University for pilot training before joining the Army.
He had been on active duty since May 2008. He had yet to serve overseas.
His awards include the National Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Aviator Badge.
Lucas is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, who is pregnant with their first child.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Lucas Sigfrid is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
