He was a member of the Mount Vernon Fire Department. He had over 25 years of service as a firefighter.
Kevin collapsed while operating at the scene of a basement fire in a single family residence. He had just donned his protective equipment and was preparing to enter the structure when the medical emergency occurred. He suddenly fell to the ground. Fellow firefighter-paramedics treated him at the scene and he was subsequently transported to the Mount Vernon Hospital, where he passed away. It is believed he had a heart attack.

Family members describe Kevin as larger than life, who lit up a room.
Friends describe him as a man who loved his family and his work.
Kevin is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife and his four children.
Pray for all who die in the line of duty.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Kevin Townes is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
