Arnulfo was a member of the Lakeland Police Department, Florida. He had 18 months of service.
On December 18, 2011, Arnulfo had approached three men who looked suspicious outside of an apartment complex in Lakeland. While he was patting them down for weapons, one of them shot Arnulfo in the head.
He was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center where he underwent several hours of surgery. He remained in grave condition for two days before succumbing to his wounds.

Twelve Law Enforcement agencies responded to search for the suspect, who turned himself in after a ten-hour manhunt. The suspect is 19 years old.

Police officials stated that Arnulfo had served his community well and that he will be sorely missed.
Arnulfo is survived by many loving friends and relatives including 8 siblings.
