Michael Morgan - Law Enforcement - New Jersey

Detective Michael Morgan, age 32, died on November 7, 2011, in Patterson, New Jersey.

Michael was a member of the Newark Police Department in New Jersey. He had 6 1/2 years of service with the department.

He was off-duty. He and several friends were visiting a nightclub in Patterson. At about 3:00 a.m., while Michael was talking to a female employee outside, a suspect approached and attempted to rob them. Michael attempted to take action but was shot once in the side during the struggle. He was transported to a local hospital, but died of his wounds.

The suspect fled the scene and remains at large. $10,000. has been offered as a reward leading to an arrest of the suspect.

Police officials stated that Michael was a proud and courageous servant of their city. They also described Michael as a helluva good cop who had lots of friends in the police department. 

Pray for all who die while opposing criminality.
