James R. Burnett Jr.

Spc. James R. Burnett Jr., age 21, of Wichita, Kansas, died on November 16, 2011, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

James attended Clearwater High School in Wichita.

Angels of God, pray for James.
Pray that he is in Heaven.

James joined the Army in April 2008 and arrived at Fort Wainwright in August 2010. He left for a one year deployment in April of 2011. This was his first overseas deployment. 

James said to family members 6 weeks before his death - I’m in a bad place. Pray for me.

And we are praying for you, James. 

James is survived by many loving friends and family members including his father and his fiancee. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that James R. Burnett Jr. is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
