Mycal L. Prince

Sgt. Mycal L. Prince, age 28, of Minco, Oklahoma, died on September 15, 2011, in Laghman province, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when insurgents attacked his unit using rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Brigade Combat Team, Oklahoma National Guard, Stillwater, Oklahoma.

He joined the Guard four days before his seventeenth birthday. I think that says a lot about the kind of man Sgt. Prince was. He deployed to help the people of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and went to Iraq in 2008.
Light a candle for Mycal.
Light his way to Heaven.

Military officials stated that he served his Nation with honor and distinction for more than a decade.

Mycal graduated from Ninnekah High School in 1997. He served as a police officer in both Minco and Alex, Oklahoma. He also worked as a K-9 handler with the Minco Police Department before being deployed to Afghanistan in March 2011.

Mycal leaves behind a wife, Surana, and two young children.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Mycal L. Prince is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
