Spc. Christopher J. Scott, age 21, of Tyrone, New York, died on September 3, 2011, at Kandahar province, Afghanistan of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire.
He was assigned to the 716th Military Police Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
This had been his first overseas tour and he was scheduled to return from Afghanistan in 12 days to be married.

Christopher was a 2009 graduate of Dundee Junior and Senior High School.
Family friends stated that everybody knew Chris and that he was a community leader. They also stated that Chris was a passionate high school football player, an avid martial artist, an avid hunter and a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Chris is survived by numerous loving friends and family members including his parents Tammy and Ken Scott; his fiancée Torey Oden; and brothers Michael (also in the Army) and Daniel.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Christopher J. Scott is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
