John F. Farias

Lance Cpl. John F. Farias, age 20, of New Braunfels, Texas, died on June 28, 2011, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. 

He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California.

John was serving his first combat deployment since he enlisted in the Corps Aug. 17, 2009.

His personal service awards include the Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Afghanistan Campaign Medal.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that John F. Farias is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
