Glenn M. Sewell

Sgt. Glenn M. Sewell, age 23, of Live Oak, Texas, died on June 13, 2011, in Wasit province, Iraq, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Glenn entered active-duty service in November 2007 as a cavalry scout. He was assigned to 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, since October 2009.

He was deployed in support of Operation New Dawn from January 2011 to June 2011 and Operation Enduring Freedom from June 2008 to June 2009.

Glenn Sewell's awards and decorations include a Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, three Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with combat service star, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with combat service star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, Combat Action Badge.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Glenn M. Sewell is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
