Brandon M. Kirton

Cpl. Brandon M. Kirton, age 25, of Centennial, Colorado, died on May 18, 2011, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire and mortar rounds. 

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Brandon M. Kirton joined the Army in January 2008 and arrived at Fort Campbell in July 2008.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge.

Brandon Kirton is survived by his father, Robert C. Kirton and mother, Kathleen A. Kirton, both of Parker, Colo. He is also survived by his daughter, Heaven Kirton of Centennial, Colorado.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Brandon M. Kirton is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
