Army Specialist Gary Lee Nelson III, age 20, died in Mosul, Iraq, on April 5, 2011, from injuries suffered in a non-combat incident.
He was a member of the 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry, 4th Infantry Brigade Combate Team, Third Infantry Division, from Fort Stewart, Ga. |

Friends of the family stated that "He's one of our own boys; He joined the service and did what our country asked him to do."
Spec. Nelson joined the military at age 18. He was scheduled to return from Iraq in just three months.
He is survived by numerous loving relatives, including his mother, Joan Geiger.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Gary Lee Nelson III is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
