David Hillman

David Hillman, a Western New York native, was killed earlier this week (week of Feb. 7, 2011), when an explosion occurred at the Inland Customs Warehouse in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He was working as a border mentor and adviser.

He was a former U.S. Customs and Border Protection worker who began his career in Buffalo, New York and later moved up the ranks. He had left Buffalo a number of years ago to advance his career with the Customs and Border Protection.

David Hillman began his career with the U.S Customs Service in 1973 and served in various assignments, including customs inspector, supervisor, program manager, and, prior to his retirement in 2009, port director at the Halifax International Airport in Canada.  He had retired with more than 30 years of Federal service.

David Hillman was continuing to serve his country by contributing his vast knowledge and experience, working as a border mentor and adviser in Afghanistan, said officials.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that David Hillman is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
