Corey Owens

Airman 1st Class Corey C. Owens, age 26, of San Antonio, Texas, died Feb. 17, 2011, due to a non-combat related incident at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq.

He was assigned to the 47th Security Forces Squadron, Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas.

Angel of God, light
Corey's way
to Heaven
Officials have described him as "the perfect Air Force cop", as Security Forces troops call themselves. Members of the Security Forces protect bases, aircraft and people. Officials also stated that “He just had a natural knack as a leader. Definitely a rare quality.” Others described Corey as “a guy you knew, just by looking at, that you could count on to protect and defend personnel, resources and aircraft.”

On a six-month tour, Corey Owens deployed to Iraq this past December. He joined the Air Force in 2008 and trained to become an installation patrolman.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Corey Owens is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
