Pfc. Robert Near, age 21, of Nampa, Idaho, was killed on January 7, 2011, at Kandahar, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 86th Signal Battalion of Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
Robert Near grew up in Granger, Wash., and lived there until high school. The soldier later moved to Nampa and attended school at Nampa Job Corps, studying computers. Robet Near had lived in Nampa for about a year until he enlisted into the Army. "He was smart and polite; He was friendly and he was happy.", said a family member. He shipped out in March 2010 to Afghanistan.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Robert J. Near is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
