Robert F. Baldwin

Maj. Robert F. Baldwin, age 39, was killed in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan on September 21, 2010.

Major Robert Francis Baldwin graduated in 1989 from Sherrard High School and then graduated with a degree in industrial technology and a minor in military studies from Western Illinois University in 1993. While attending college, Major Baldwin was an active member in the Delta Upsilon fraternity. For 17 years, Major Robert Baldwin served his country. He joined the Army following his graduation from WIU's ROTC program. He served three tours of duty in Afghanistan, along with a tour in Bosnia. In 2007, he became a member of the 101st combat Aviation brigade and the 101st Airborne division, both based in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

The 39-year old leaves behind a wife, Danielle, and four children, Rachel (8), Kegan (4), Megan (3), and Patrick (8 months). Patrick was born just two weeks before Major Baldwin left for his latest tour in Afghanistan in February.  Robert Baldwin also leaves behind his parents who are devastated by his death.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Robert Baldwin is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
