Kevin Kessler

On August 30, 2010, Staff Sergeant Kevin Kessler of Canton, Ohio, was one of five soldiers killed after insurgents attacked their unit in the Arghandab River. All five soldiers died after they were struck by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan.


Kevin's family says he was a proud soldier who looked forward to pursuing a career in the military. His uncle said right before he left, he and his wife learned they were expecting their first child.  Kevin Kessler graduated from East Canton High School in 1996. He was on student council and also served as vice president of his senior class.  The 32-year-old was serving in the 4th Brigade Support Battalion based out of Fort Carson, Colorado. He had served two tours of duty in Iraq before deploying to Afghanistan.


Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Kevin Kessler is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
