L-Cpl Woodgate was patrolling in a village when a child was seen using a mirror to reflect the sun. Locals then returned to their compounds before the attack 15 minutes later. L-Cpl Woodgate had suffered "unsurvivable" injuries and that nothing further could have been done by colleagues or medical staff to save his life. L-Cpl Woodgate, of the Household Cavalry Regiment, was due to return home just a short time after the attack took place.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Jonathan Woodgate is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
