Jordan Dean Bancroft

British soldier, Lance Corporal Jordan Dean Bancroft, age 25, of 1st Battalion Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, was killed in August of 2010, as he completed patrols in the southern Nad-e Ali district of Afghanistan.

He was killed during an exchange of fire with insurgents on while providing security for elders and international security troops in the village of Sayedebad, central Helmand.

In a statement his parents, along with brothers Paul and Leighton, sister Toni and girlfriend Lauren, said: "We will always remember Jordan loving a challenge, in particular outdoor pursuits. He was a keen snow skier and often skied for the Regiment. He loved all watersports and took any opportunity to ride a jet ski or drive a speed boat. We will miss Jordan so much and it will leave a huge hole in all our lives. You will always be in our hearts, Jordan.”

Lance Cpl Bancroft joined the Army aged 16 in September 2001 and was posted to the 1st Battalion, The Queen’s Lancashire Regiment before its amalgamation in 2006.  This was his third operational tour, begun in March with the Anzio Company, having deployed twice to Iraq on Op TELIC 2 and 11.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Jordan Dean Bancroft is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
