Martyn Horton

British soldier Colour Sergeant Martyn ‘Bobby’ Horton, age 34, of 1st Battalion The Mercian Regiment, died in Afghanistan, in July 2010, along with three colleagues while responding to a rocket propelled grenade and small arms attack on a police checkpoint.

Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Hadfield, Commanding Officer 1st Battalion The Mercian Regiment (Cheshire), said: “Colour Sergeant Horton was one of our very best."

He leaves behind his girlfriend Gemma, his son Ethan, nine, and stepdaughter Bethany, 17.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Martyn Horton is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
