First Lieutenant Joel Gentz died June 9, 2010, in a helicopter crash near Forward Operating Base Jackson in Afghanistan.Three other airmen were also killed. There are no details available on exactly how the crash happened.
Joel Gentz was assigned to the 58th Rescue Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.
