Spc. Christopher W. Opat, age 29, from Iowa, died June 9, 2010, in Baqubah, Iraq.Christopher Opat was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.
Military records show that Christopher Opat enlisted in the Army on Aug. 7, 2003 in Memphis, Tenn. He served three and a half years in Germany and was serving his third deployment to Iraq at the time of his death. His most recent deployment began last August.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Christopher Opat is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
