The Korean War.....

The Korean War (1950-53) was a military conflict between the Republic of Korea, supported by the United Nations; and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the People's Republic of China, with air support from the Soviet Union. The war began on 25 June 1950 and an armistice was signed on 27 July 1953.

The United Nations, particularly the United States, came to the aid of the South Koreans in repelling the invasion from the North.

In the end, this was all about preventing South Korea from becoming Communist.

The death toll from the Korean War is under debate. However, the death toll is somewhere around 1,500,000 people including 36,516 dead Americans, and numerous dead soldiers from Turkey, Britain, Canada, Australia, France, Greece, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Belgium, South Africa, the Soviet Union and New Zealand. Even 2 soldiers from the very tiny European country of Luxembourg died in this conflict.

Did anybody care that all these men died?

God save us from our governments.

Let us pray that the souls of the men, women and children who died in the Korean War are at peace. Let us pray that they are with God and are in Heaven. Amen.
