Army Spc. Eric M. Finniginam, age 26, died on May 1, 2010, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit in Afghanistan's eastern Kunar province. He is the 35th service member from the Micronesia region to die while supporting U.S. wars since 2003. Eric Finniginman was from Colonia, the Capital of Yap State within the Federated States of Micronesia.
He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado.
