Sheri Williams - killed by a stray bullet in her doorway in Gate City, Alabama

Sheri Williams, age 28, died on April 29, 2013, on the front stoop of her apartment in the middle of day.

Sheri was standing in the doorway of her Gate City, Alabama apartment just before 1 p.m. when a bullet fatally struck her in the chest.

She was holding her 10 day old son in her arms at the time of her murder.

Two unidentified men were involved in a verbal altercation at a grocery store roughly 100 yards away from Sheri's apartment complex. After the conflict escalated, one of the men chased the other down the street and fired a gun.

Sheri was hit by a stray bullet from that altercation. She stumbled back into the first floor of her apartment and fell on a couch – with her infant son still in her arms. She cried out "Momma, Momma, Momma".

Her 8 year old daughter was at school at the time of this shooting. Her mother and her 4 year old son were in the apartment with her. The 10 day old baby was not hurt.

The suspect is still at large. If you have any information in the shooting contact the Birmingham Police homicide unit at (205) 254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at (205) 254-7777.

Friends describe Sheri as quiet and a woman who kept to herself. She wanted to move out of Gate City to a better place.

There are conflicting news reports about Sheri's age. She is listed as 24 years old and

28 years old. Her daughter is listed as 8 years old and 6 years old. Her son is listed as 4 years old and 3 years old.

However, what is certain is that Sheri died as an innocent bystander. She was killed out of the blue by freaks who are trying to kill each other, but who kill innocent women instead.

God help us all when you can't even stand on your front stoop at 1:00 in the afternoon without the fear of being murdered.

Pray for justice for Sheri.

God save us from the Lost Ones who stalk the Earth stealing away life. Amen.

Let us pray that Sheri is in heaven. Let us pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
