Jeff Watson - Law Enforcement - Louisiana

Deputy Sheriff Jeff Watson, age 41, died on August 4, 2013, on a road in Luling, Louisiana.

Jeff was a member of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office. He had 12 years of service.

At about 8:45 p.m., Jeff was responding to an assistance call from another officer. He was traveling on Paul Maillard Road with his emergency lights activated when an oncoming vehicle attempted to make a left turn in front of him onto Post Drive. Deputy Watson, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, attempted to avoid a collision but sideswiped the vehicle and then struck another vehicle head-on.

Four vehicles were involved in the crash. The occupants of the other vehicles all suffered injuries.

Jeff was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced deceased. 

The St. Charles Sheriff's Office is in mourning over this tragic death.  

Police Officials stated:  "Deputy Watson was a dedicated public servant who will be deeply missed by all St. Charles Parish residents." 

Jeff is survived by many loving friends and relatives.
