Republic of Georgia - Seven soldiers killed in Afghanistan

Seven soldiers of the Republic of Georgia died in the line of duty on June 6, 2013, in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

A truck bomb hit one of their forward operating bases. The powerful explosion also wounded nine other Georgian soldiers. The attack was carried out by a suicide bomber.

All of the men were from from the 42nd Light Infantry Battalion of the Fourth Brigade. They had deployed to Afghanistan in April of 2013.

Cpl. Boris Tsugoshvili, age 29
Pfc. Zurab Gurgenashvili, age 32
Pfc. Zviad Sulkhanishvili, age 22
Pfc. Giorgi Guchashvili, age 21
Private Mikheil Narindoshvili, age 26

Pray for these men

All of these men are survived by many loving friends and relatives who will forever miss them.  An ocean of tears has been shed for them.

Thank you for your service to Georgia, Brothers. 

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for these Georgian soldiers.

Pray for all who die young and violently. Amen.
