He had two passengers, a man and a woman, in their mid-20's in his cab. In Brooklyn. A dispute erupted. It may have been about the fare.
Orji-Ama was stabbed in the eye with the end of an umbrella. He drove for another block after this but crashed into parked cars. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital in a critical condition but was later pronounced deceased. It is believed that the stab through his eye pierced his brain.
His money and wallet were not taken in this assault. The assailants apparently just calmly walked away.

Orji-Ama originally came from Nigeria 10 years ago to better his condition and that of his children. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Church.
Orji-Ama is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his five children.
