David Cancino |
He stepped out of his vehicle and offered to help.
He raked up the yard and gave Merry Cahoon his name and phone number and told her if she needed any more help around the yard to call him. A few days later, she did call to ask if he could install some poles for a wire fence around her house, and David obliged without pay.
Merry Cahoon is very happy that David Cancino came to her aid. She is grateful for his help and for his generosity of spirit. She describes him as a thoughtful, considerate and helpful young man.
God bless those who reach out to help strangers. They are the quiet heroes of this world. |
David works part time at the Baan Khun Ya Thai restaurant in Pasco. He is also attending Columbia Basin College. He hopes to one day study culinary arts and become a chef at a Seattle-area restaurant.
David's parents, Maria and Salvador Cancino, of Kennewick, raised their son to believe that helping others is part of living a happy and productive life. You do it without expecting anything in return. David said that his Dad was always helping others. It's just what he did.
There is no greater lesson to teach your children than that.
God bless David Cancino. Amen.
God knows we need more young men like him in this world.
