Justin Sisson - U.S. Military

2nd Lt. Justin L. Sisson, age 23, of Phoenix, Arizona, died on June 3, 2013, in Tsamkani, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked by a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Justin had attended Blue Valley West High School and later Florida State University and was in the ROTC program there.

He joined the Army about a year ago.

Military comrades describe him as a good man and great leader. He always did the right thing and made everyone around him better. He will be forever missed.

Friends describe Justin as bright, happy and kind. He wanted to make a career out of military service.

His awards include one Bronze Star Medal (posthumous), Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Sapper Badge.

Pray for those who die young in combat.  Amen.

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Justin.

Pray that Justin is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
