Erika Brannock and her Good Samaritan, Amanda North, at the Boston Marathon Bombings

Erika Brannock (L), Amanda North (R)
Erika Brannock, age 29, was one of the 250 bystanders injured at the Boston Marathon Bombings on April 15, 2013.

Erika is a preschool teacher from Maryland.

She was watching her mother compete in the race when one of the two bombs exploded.

She was horrendously injured - her left leg was badly mangled and her right leg was also badly injured.  She was in serious jeopardy of bleeding to death at the scene.

Amanda North of Woodside, California, was watching her daughter compete in the race.  She is a mother of two.  When the explosion occurred she ran to help Erika, despite the fact that she herself had an injured leg and a busted eardrum from the blast.

Amanda used her belt as a tourniquet and held Erika's hand to try to comfort her.  Erika felt she was going to die.  Amanda told Erika:  "I'm not going to let you go."

Erika underwent 11 surgeries, including the amputation of her left leg at the mid-thigh, and has a chunk of flesh missing from her lower right leg.

The Good Samaritan comes to the aid of
strangers, saying "I'm not going to let
you go."
Erika strongly believes that Amanda North saved her life.

Erika and Amanda had a tear filled reunion on June 5, 2013, at the hospital in Boston where Erika was being  treated.  Both women sobbed.

They exchanged gifts and promised to be friends forever.

Pray for the full recovery of Erika Brannock.  She has been through a terrible ordeal. Amen.

God bless Amanda North.  We need more women like her on this planet. Amen.

God save us from the psychopaths who plot to kill the innocent on the street.  Amen.
