He was assigned to 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado.

Trinidad Santiago grew up in San Diego and graduated from Hoover High School in 2005. He went on to Coleman University where he earned his associate degree. He wanted to become a graphic designer.
He joined the Army on October 13, 2009. He had been deployed to Kuwait since February of 2013.
He had previously served in Afghanistan.
He was married in January of 2012 and his wife is pregnant.
Loved ones describe Trinidad as shy. He never complained and did what he had to do.
He is also described as a sweet man who took care of his family and was unselfish. He loved cars and loved playing golf. He was looking forward to becoming a father.

Trinidad is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife Belgica Santiago and his unborn child.
