Michael Simpson - U.S. Military

Staff Sgt. Michael H. Simpson, age 30, of San Antonio, Texas, died on May 1, 2013, in Landstuhl, Germany, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit on April 27, 2013, with an improvised explosive device in Arian, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Michael had 10 years of service in the Military.  He had been deployed to Afghanistan for only about 2 weeks before he was critically wounded.
