Mark Tyler Voss - U.S. Military

Capt. Mark Tyler Voss, age 27, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died on May 3, 2013, in an aircraft crash near Chon-Aryk, Kyrgyzstan.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

He was assigned to the 93rd Air Refueling Squadron, Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington.


He went by the name Tyler.  Tyler was originally from Boerne, Texas, a suburb of San Antonio.

Tyler graduated from Boerne High School in 2004.  He graduated from the Air Force Academy in 2008.

Military officials stated that Tyler will be remembered as a patriot and a hero. 

Military comrades describe Tyler as a bright and skilled co-pilot, capable and confident.

Family members describe him as a great kid, who loved to fly.  His dream was to

become a pilot and he accomplished his dream.  He is their hero.

Tyler is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, a brother and a sister.
