Iraqi girl, age 19, murdered by her brother |
Their family were Iraqi immigrants to Sweden.
The sister was stabbed over 100 times with two different knives and a pair of scissors.
The court determined that this was an "honour killing". The brother was ashamed of his sister because she had fled from a forced and arranged marriage in Iraq and returned to Sweden.
She had previously lived in a foster home to escape from her family.

Representatives of the Malmö-based organization Tänk om (Think Again), which
works to stop honour-related crimes, told local media that the woman had been in touch with them for one year since returning to Sweden and that she slept with a knife under her pillow for fear of reprisals over her escape from this forced marriage.
Local authorities had ignored their warnings that the woman was under threat and needed protection.
The brother, who is unidentified because he is a teenager, was sentenced to 8 years in jail for this murder.
On May 7, 2013, a Swedish appeals court reduced this sentence to 4 years. He will be out and about at age 21. Just starting out in life.
Too bad his sister can't start out in life again.
Sweden has sent a message to their citizens that you can kill your family members if you are a teenager and get away with it.
Sweden believes that teenagers age 15 to 19 are children. They are not responsible for their actions. They don't know right from wrong. They are somewhat stupid and confused and are basically guiltless.
In other jurisdictions and countries of this world, teenagers can live on their own, get married, have sex, bear children and become parents; drive cars, drink alcohol, join the Army and generally create whatever mayhem they wish to do. In some countries, when teenagers kill others, they are treated as adults. In some jurisdictions, committing murder makes you an adult whether you like it or not.

Saint Bernadette of Lourdes, pray for this woman. |
In Sweden, apparently teenagers are innocent babies.
Pray for this teenaged woman who was killed by her brother. Pray that she is in Heaven and is with God.
God save us from our families who say they love us and then kill us. Amen.
Jesus, Mary, all saints and all angels pray for us. Save us from these freaks. Amen.
