In the early morning hours, a minivan sideswiped an SUV causing the SUV to flip.The driver of the SUV, Ninh Nguyen (age 64) was trapped inside of the vehicle. Antonio Thorpe saw the accident and got out to help.
Tony reached into the cab of the overturned SUV with one hand, trying to grab the man inside. He held his other hand in the air, outstretched toward Interstate 77 with the hope that drivers would see him and slow down.
Tragically that is when a tractor-trailer plowed into Ninh Nguyen's overturned SUV, killing them both.
Tony Thorpe ran a fitness training company in Charlotte.

The family of Ninh Nguyen describe Tony as a hero to their family. They are grieving the loss of their hardworking father, Ninh and the loss of Tony who came to his aid. They will be forever grateful for his help.
Tony is survived by many loving friends and relatives.
Pray for the Good Samaritans who die while coming to the aid of others.
God knows that we need more men in this world like Tony Thorpe.
