Brian Woehlke - Firefighter - Michigan

Firefighter Brian Woehlke, age 29, died in the line of duty on May 8, 2013, in Westland, Michigan.

Brian was a member of the Wayne-Westland Fire Department. He had 10 months of service.

Brian responded to a fire that broke out about 9:00 a.m. at a strip mall.

Brian was caught and trapped when the roof of the structure collapsed. He is believed to have passed away from smoke and soot inhalation. 

Fire Department officials stated that Brian was a great firefighter who did his job well. He was well-liked by his colleagues and always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed.

Brian's family stated that he loved going to work every day and he worked his whole life to be a firefighter. He was proud to be a Wayne-Westland firefighter.

Brian is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Jennifer; and 13 month old daughter, Ava. 

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Let us pray that Brian is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
