Dale Queen - Firefighter - Alabama

Dale Queen, age 37, died in the line of duty on April 29, 2013, in Morgan County, Alabama.

Dale was a volunteer member of the Oak Ridge Volunteer Fire Department.

Dale and others in his department responded to a routine call. He was searching for potential explosives in the woods on Ironman Road near Alabama 36, when he fell ill.

He was taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital where he passed away.

It is believed that Dale Queen had heart problems, but this is undetermined.
Saint Florian, Patron
Saint of Firefighters,
pray for Dale

Firefighter colleagues describe Dale as a man who wanted to give more than he received. He was a good man in every aspect. He would do anything for anybody in need. He was only a phone call away.

Family members describe Dale as a devoted husband, father, son and friend.

Dale is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his mother, Sara Penny Queen; two brothers - Terry and Billy; four sisters - Connie, Missy, Shannon and Tracie; his wife Elizabeth; his children - Tanner (age 14); Dakota (age 13); and Avery (age 9). Dale was predeceased by his father, William Queen.
