Cody Towse - U.S. Military

Pfc. Cody Towse, age 21, of Elk Ridge, Utah, died on May 14, 2013, in Sanjaray, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

Cody was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas.

Cody was treating an injured soldier when he was killed in a second explosion.

Cody graduated from Salem Hills High School in 2010. He enlisted in the Army in 2011.

Cody wanted to use his skills as a certified Emergency Medical Technician and became a Medic. He earned a combat medic ribbon a month ago for saving another soldier's life.

His family describe him as a hero who knew his duty and did it. He was proud to serve

He is also described as having many friends and as having a sense of humor. 

Cody is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Jamie and Jim Towse; his brothers Will and Christian; and his sister, Callen. 

Thank you for serving, Cody. 

Pray for the 21 year olds who die in combat. Yesterday, they were just boys. Amen.

Let us pray that Cody is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
