Wilfried Pingaud - French Solider - killed in Mali, Africa

French Sergeant Wilfried Pingaud, age 37, died on March 6, 2013, in Mali, Africa. 

He was fatally wounded in a clash with local terrorist groups near Tin Keraten, 100 Km from Gao. 

He was a member of the 68th African artillery regiment. 

He is the fourth French soldier to die in the campaign in Mali. 

Wilfried joined the Army of France in 1995. Military officials stated that he had a good attitude and good military skills. He is also described as a hard worker. 

He had previously served in the Central African Republic and in Afghanistan. 

During his career he served as a cook, as a driver, a computer operator and also dealt with heavy ammunition.

He had received numerous military awards during his service to France. 

Wilfried is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife and 2 children.
