He had been driving and pulled over to the side of U.S. Highway 87 South for an unknown reason. He called his girlfriend, and started walking.
Troy appears to have been walking in the outside lane and was struck by a vehicle, possibly a tractor-trailer. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Troy worked for a local irrigation company.
Family members are deeply grieved by the death of Troy. He enjoyed spending time with his two sons and going fishing with them.
He made friends easily, was a good man with a sense of humor. He would give you the shirt off his back if he could help out. He was truly warm and caring.

Troy is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his brother, Leon Dean; his two sons, age 14 and 11; and his girlfriend; and a large extended family.
Pray for all who die my misadventure. They are with us one moment and gone the next. Amen.
