He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas.
He grew up in the Montana Vista area and was a graduate of Mountain View High School. Roberto joined the Army in June of 2002. He had deployed to Afghanistan in the Fall of 2011.

He was previously stationed at Fort Benning, Fort Bragg and Los Angeles Recruiting Battalion. His military education includes Airborne, Combat Lifesaver’s Course, Warrior Leader Course, Army Recruiter, Advance Leader Course, Combatives Level II, Airload Planners, Unit Movement Officers Course, and the Air Assault Course.
He received numerous awards and decorations during his service.
Military officials describe him as an outstanding soldier.
Family members are devastated by his death. They describe Roberto as an outgoing person who wanted to be in the military since he was a boy. They also stated that he loved his family and he loved his country.
Roberto is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, 3 siblings, his wife and their 7 year old son and 2 year old daughter.
Let us pray that Roberto Loeza is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
