Joshua was a 2007 Covington High School graduate, where he played football.
This was his second tour of duty in Afghanistan. He last deployed to Afghanistan about 3 months ago.
Friends describe him as an all around hometown boy who was humble. He always had a smile on his face.

Family members are crushed by his death.
It was reported that when he returned from the Military he wanted to go to the police academy and get into law enforcement and ultimately become a conservation officer.
Joshua is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Tom and Kayla Witsman; brother, Adam; his wife, Stacey; and 2 step-sons - Andrew and Vincent.
Let us pray that Joshua Witsman is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
