Anthony Servin

Cpl. Anthony R. Servin, age 22, of Moreno Valley, California, died on June 8, 2012, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. 

He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California.

The cause of his death has not been released as of this posting.

He was on his first deployment to Afghanistan. 

Anthony's decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with a bronze star device, and the NATO Medal-ISAF Afghanistan.

Anthony was a 2008 graduate of Canyon Springs High School. He joined the Marines on June 19, 2008.

Family members stated that Anthony loved the Marine Corps and was proud of his service to his country. 

They also describe him as a very likeable young man, who laughed easily and was friendly with everyone he met. He always thought of others first. 

Anthony is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Leticia Gomez; his younger brother, Juan Alberto Servin (also in the Marine Corps); and his girlfriend.

Let us pray that Anthony Servin is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

My handsome nephew, we are still in dis-belief that you're no longer with us! It's so hard for all of us, may god give us the strength specially your mother, she's torn! May god have u in heaven and bless u! We love u and are missing u dearly!!
