Ion-Lucian Leustean and those who linger and suffer

Romanian soldier Ion-Lucian Leustean, age 25, died on May 9, 2012, in Bucharest, Romania.

He had been severely wounded by a bomb attack in Afghanistan’s southern province of Zabul on September 7, 2011.

He has died from the injuries he sustained last September.

Ion-Lucian was a member of the 2nd Maneuver Battalion. He joined the Romanian army in 2009.

Military officials describe him as courageous and responsible and a fighter to the end.

He has been awarded the Star of Romania medal.

Father, place Ion-Lucian on the
stairway to Heaven.
Ion-Lucian is survived by many loving friends and relatives.

Sometimes in the horror of war, we honour the dead and forget the wounded. Many of these wounded men suffer the loss of their arms and legs, their vision or hearing, or suffer horrible disfigurements.

And some of them such as Ion-Lucian are seriously wounded, hold on and hold on, and suffer for months and then still die from their injuries.

Pray for all who linger and suffer.  God help them.

Let us pray that Ion-Lucian Leustean is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
