Andrew Roberts

British Corporal Andrew Roberts, age 32, died on May 4, 2012, in the Nahr-e Saraj district, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained from an indirect fire attack.

Andrew Roberts was a member of the 23 Pioneer Regiment, The Royal Logistic Corps.

Andrew was born in Middlesborough, and was on his second tour of Afghanistan and had served in operations in Bosnia and Iraq.

He was responsible for leading a team trying to detect improvised explosive devices in high risk areas.

Military officials describe Andrew as talented, a fine soldier, and someone who had a cheeky grin.

Family members stated that they are proud of his service in the military; that he was a great father and that Andrew is their hero.

Andrew is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Stephen and Pauline; his brothers and sisters - Tracey, Mark, Darren, Michael and Emma; his girlfriend, Paula; and his children - Jessica (age 6), Kyle (age 5) and Kayla (age 3).

Let us pray that Andrew Roberts is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
