Ratu Silibaravi

British Private Ratu Silibaravi, age 32, died on May 4, 2012, in the Nahr-e Saraj district, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained from an indirect fire attack.

Ratu was a member of the 23 Pioneer Regiment, The Royal Logistic Corps.

Ratu was born in Fiji. He was known to his friends as Sili and sometimes Prince.

His job in the military involved working to detect make-shift bombs.

Military officials describe Ratu as a "soldier's soldier". They stated that he had a quiet confidence and inner strength. They also describe him as steadfast, redoubtable and brave and a man who gave 100 percent to any task. 

Ratu is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Meli and Merewalesi; his brother Saimoni, and his sister Mereoni.

Let us pray that Ratu Silibaravi is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
