Jameson (Jim) Douglas Kidd - Firefighter - New Zealand

Volunteer Firefighter Jameson (Jim) Douglas Kidd, age 64, died on September 4, 2011, near Shingle Creek, New Zealand.

Jim was a member of the Dunstan Rural Fire Brigade. Dunstan is one of four rural fire brigades within the Rural Fire Authority, run by the Central Otago District Council in New Zealand. He had been volunteering for 7 years.

He was driving a tanker with 10,000 litres of water to a fire near Shingle Creek when he became unwell. He was able to stop the vehicle and was then given assistance by his crewmen, other firemen and members of the public, but he died at the scene.

Pray for Jim
Fire Department officials stated that Jim was proud of his tanker truck and was a perfectionist in the performance of his duties. He is also described as hardworking and reliable.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Jim Kidd is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
