Facrou Housseini Ali

French Master Corporal Facrou Housseini Ali, age 32, was killed on August 11, 2011, near Tagab, Afghanistan, when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. 

He was a member of the 19th Engineer Regiment in Besancon.

Facrou was born in the Comoros Islands and joined the military in 2001. He was a driver of armoured vehicles. He had previously served in Guyana, Kosovo and Ivory Coast. 

Military officials stated that he is distinguished by his professionalism, discipline and camaraderie.

He is survived by numerous loving relatives and friends including his two young children.
