Jeremy A. Katzenberger

Staff Sgt. Jeremy A. Katzenberger, age 26, of Weatherby Lake, Missouri, died on June 14, 2011, in Paktika province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire. 

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia.

Jeremy was a graduate of Park Hill High School.

Military officials stated that “Staff Sgt. Katzenberger was a phenomenal Ranger who died while leading his men in an assault against our enemies. He died while protecting our nation and we will not forget his sacrifice.”

Jeremy was on his eighth combat deployment since enlisting in 2004. He had served four in Iraq and was on his fourth in Afghanistan.

Jeremy Katzenberger leaves behind a wife, Colleen A. (Montgomery) Katzenberger, and a 7-month-old son, Everett James, of Richmond Hill, Ga.; parents Robert and Peggy Katzenberger of Weatherby Lake; and three brothers, two of whom are also serving in the armed forces.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Jeremy A. Katzenberger is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
