Scotty Hamilton - Police Officer Fatality - Kentucky

Police Officer Scotty Hamilton, age 35, died in the line of duty on March 13, 2018, in Pikeville, Kentucky. 

Officer Hamilton was a member of the Pikeville Police Department. He had 12 years of service. 

Pikeville is the county seat of Pike County and has a population of under 7,000. 

After 11:00 p.m., Scotty and a Kentucky State trooper were conducting a criminal patrol in a known drug-dealing area of Pike County.  The officers were searching the area when somehow Scotty was shot in the head. 

Tragically, Scotty succumbed to his injuries at the scene. 

A 55 year old male will be charged with first degree murder. 

Scotty went to Shelby Valley High School in Pike County and graduated in 2001.

The members of the Pikeville Police Department are in mourning over the death of their brother. Scotty was humble, respectful, caring, hard-working and had a sense of humor. He will be forever remembered. 

Scotty's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was loved. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Scotty is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife and small child.

Thank you for your service to the community, Scotty.

Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

God save us from the psychopaths. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Scotty is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
